Funding sweeps cause months of delays in both FOID and Concealed Carry programs.

In the wake of anti-gun activists pushing to increase fees for both FOID and Concealed Carry licensing in IL, the Illinois State Rifle Association and State Representative Keith Wheeler worked with the Legislative Research Unit to find out where the current fees are going.

It was found that in the last 5 years alone, nearly $30 Million has been taken from these programs to cover State deficits and other projects. This has left anybody looking for a FOID or Concealed Carry card or renewal with months of delays and no help correcting problems. A large part of the population is being affected, and these delays are infringing on the ability of our law-abiding citizens to exercise their 2nd Amendment rights.
