GAT GUNS has many classes for novice shooters. These basic classes are designed to get you started in the shooting sports.

Women’s Introduction to Handguns / Co-Ed Introduction to Handguns

• This is a basic course directed to people with little or no firearms experience to provide them with a fun and safe way to be introduced to handguns and shooting.
• $125.00 | 3 hours
• Handgun, ammo, and range gear are provided.

Skill Builder

• For handgun shooters looking to expand and tighten up their gunhandling and shooting skills, Skill Builder is a third-level class emphasizing techniques to improve efficiency, accuracy, and speed.
• $100.00 | 2½ hours
• You will need your handgun, 150 rounds of ammo, and eye/ear protection.

Youth Handgun Safety – kid’s from age 8 to 14

• If you want your child to learn firearms responsibility, safety, and proper shooting technique, this is a great group class for a nominal fee.
• $49.99 | 2 hours
• .22 LR Handgun, ammo, and range gear are provided.
• Upon completion, your child will receive a named certificate and card allowing them to shoot on our range.

Next Step Youth

• This class will pick up where the Youth Handgun Safety Class left off and involve more range time to work on actual shooting skills.

NRA Basic Pistol

• In this introductory course you will learn proper handling, firearm safety, range procedures, ammunition, and shooting fundamentals of revolvers and semi-automatic handguns.
• $150.00 | 8 hours
• Handguns, ammo, and range gear are provided.
• This course is accepted as 8-hours of training towards the Illinois Concealed Carry License

NRA Basic Rifle

• If you like to shoot your rifle(s) and have never taken a class in rifle fundamentals, the NRA Basic Rifle class is for you. In addition to safety, instruction on various action types, safety, and ammunition, you will learn the 5 rifle shooting positions, prone, sitting, kneeling, bench and offhand, and receive coaching in the classroom and on the range in how to shoot them properly.
