Illinois Concealed Carry Renewal Class

It is time to renew your Illinois Concealed Carry Permit.

Take your recertification program from our certified instructors that are also Certified Police Officers and or military professionals with years of experience teaching firearms safety and practical applications to help you make that split-second decision to protect yourself and your family.

Our Illinois Concealed Carry 3-hour recertification program covers all the State and Federal applicable laws and the firearms qualification requirement.

With an added Bonus of certifying you to return and participate in our monthly Holster Practice Program (waving the Defensive Pistol course requirement)

Class Sizes limited to 16 people for Illinois CCW Renewals

$85 per person- includes range fees for qualification..

You will need to bring your:

  • Pistol
  • Eye and ear protection
  • 50 rounds ammunition min 100 rounds preferred
  • A Holster (Optional)

Targets are provided for the qualification (B-27)

Our 3-hour program consists of:

    • All Applicable State and Federal Laws Relating to Ownership, Storage, Carry and Transportation of a Firearm (classroom minimum 2 hours)
      • The Act relating to the ownership, storage, carry and transportation of a firearm:
        • Emphasis on 430 ILCS 66/10(h) which includes instruction on the appropriate and lawful interaction with law enforcement while transporting or carrying a concealed firearm
        • Emphasis on 430 ILCS 66/65 which includes instruction on prohibited areas and the parking lot exemption
      • The FOID Act 430 ILCS 65/1
      • All relevant portions of the ILCS including, but not limited to:
        • 720 ILCS 5/7-1. Use of force in defense of a person
        • 720 ILCS 5/7-2. Use of force in defense of a dwelling
        • 720 ILCS 5/7-3. Use of force in defense of other property
        • 70 ILCS 24/-1. Unlawful use of weapons
        • Definitions of dwelling, aggressor, forcible felony, and unlawful use of weapons pursuant to ILCS.
  • Firearm Handling and Qualification (minimum 1 hour)
    • Handgun and marksmanship fundamentals
    • Proper handgun concealment
    • The holster draw
    • Live-fire instruction and qualification with a concealable firearm consisting of a minimum of 30 rounds
      • 10 rounds from a distance of 5 yards
        • 10 rounds from a distance of 7 yards
        • 10 rounds from a distance of 10 yards

NOTE: Participants must qualify on an ISP approved “B-27” silhouette target.

 

With our program you will receive the added bonus to be certified to return and participate in our holster practice that is offered monthly.

Illinois Concealed Carry Renewal Application

The Illinois State Police will accept renewal applications up to 180 days ahead of expiration.

  • We will assist you in applying for your Illinois Concealed Carry Renewal.  The filing fee is $35.00 for our students, or $40.00 for walk-ins.
  • We do the ID photos –  Price above includes the ID photos.
  • Applications are done during normal store hours.
  • On days that we have IL CCL Renewal classes, applications are done while you take the class.

What is needed to do a CCL Renewal application:

  • A certificate signed by the instructor showing completion of the training.
  • A valid FOID card and Driver’s License or State ID
  • ID photo
  • Documents are scanned to be transmitted to the ISP.

Fees:

The Illinois Concealed Carry License is $150.00 plus a $3.38 credit card surcharge for a total of $153.38.

For GAT Guns to complete the entirety of the application with ID photos, the fee is $35 for our students or $40 for walk-ins.

If you did not originally submit fingerprints, you may submit Livescan fingerprints to expedite your renewal application*. The fee is discounted to $55 for students who take our Concealed Carry class.

*If you submitted fingerprints with your original application, the Illinois State Police have them on file and should expedite your renewal application.
